On an afternoon lit by a passion for sustainable architecture, we had the pleasure of sitting down with Jacopo Carli, one of the creative minds behind Eutropia Architettura, to discover how this studio transforms the principles of sustainability into tangible realities<\/strong>. Amongst laughter, Jacopo took us on a journey through the studio’s most significant projects, revealing how a commitment to greenery and the community are at the heart of their design philosophy.<\/span><\/p>\n

Jacopo, how was Eutropia Architettura born?<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

Eutropia<\/strong> is the fruit of an idea that began to germinate on the university benches, twenty years ago. Since then, we have grown like an ecosystem, without fixed hierarchies, betting everything on collective intelligence and collaboration.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

What projects are milestones for you?<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

Among our most emblematic projects is the competition for the restyling of the Artemio Franchi Stadium in Florence,<\/strong> which, although we did not win, marked an important starting point for us. In Certaldo, we transformed a car park into a linear square, creating a public space that laid the foundations for sustainable growth<\/strong>. And then there’s the Justice Citadel in Bologna,<\/strong> a project that saw us as winners and confirmed our ability to compete at high levels, always with an eye on heritage.<\/span><\/p>\n

You often speak of greenery and community. Can you delve deeper into this topic?<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

For us, greenery is not just an aesthetic element, but a true design tool. We aim to create spaces that are not only beautiful to admire but also stimulate the community to take care of them. Our vision is to build not just buildings but living communities,<\/strong> that interact with spaces in an active and responsible manner.<\/span><\/p>\n

And what is the keyword that guides your approach?<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

I would say that “care<\/strong><\/em>” and “responsibility<\/strong><\/em>” are our keywords. Greenery, as a project material, requires a constant commitment, not only in the design phase but also in maintenance. We want our works to be livable spaces in the long term, encouraging the community to take care of the surrounding environment.<\/span><\/p>\n
